Community Supported Agriculture

What is CSA?

CSA stands for community supported agriculture. It is a system in which people connect to local farms and invest in shares of future harvests. The Japanese people use the poetic phrase, food with the farmer’s face on it to describe it.

Why join a CSA?

First and foremost you are joining a community of people who appreciate and connect with some of the same things you do. Joining a CSA you get some of the freshest food possible, sometimes its a matter of hours between harvest and your plate. You will also be eating with the seasons discovering how with each part of the year brings different flavors onto your plate. The early season income provided by you also makes a big difference in up the front costs in farming to make the growing season as best as it can possibly be.

How our system works

At Waxing Moon Gardens we offer shares of seasonal fruits and vegetables. CSA shares are picked up weekly for 18 weeks, running mid June to mid October. Each share will consist of our best vegetables with options for substitution, just in case you don’t like certain items. A share consists of about 7 - 9 items a week. Every week we will be sending out an email with updates about what is in the share and farm life.

Pick up locations:

On farm, Wednesdays 3pm - 6pm

Tamworth Farmer’s Market, Saturdays 9am - 12pm

If you need to switch pick up locations we are flexible and just ask for 24 hours notice if possible.
